Story Hour

We are regular attenders at the library's story time.  We are not alone! It's very popular.  They offer it 3 days a week and I've been on several occasions when they have to turn people away due to the fire codes.  Hope really likes it and I really think she learns a lot from it.  They sing, read (obviously), do baby sign language, play instruments, and they used to have a craft.  Now, they've changed to "early literacy activities."  We went today and it was threading a shoe string through a plastic letter that had lots of tiny holes in it.  I always bring a bag that we fill with books to bring home.  Don't you love libraries?
There's plenty to do while we wait for the doors to open.

The Wee Read room.  Doesn't it look so organized and inviting?  Can't you imagine when they first set it up, they imagined each little bottom sitting criss- cross applesauce on the little carpet squares and listening to the story.  It goes nothing at all like that. Babies chew carpet squares, toddlers roam around the room and try very hard to sneak their way to the red felt story board, moms pull on their kids shirts trying to get them to sit down...all the while, Ms. Sharon- the leader- just smiles and sings or reads.

This is Luke's fake smile.  It looks just like hid daddy's fake smile!  Luke went with the older group (3+) and they apparently painted.  He told us that this is a picture of poop.  He's definitely a 4 year old boy.
