So, Woody and I got away for the weekend.  We went to a bed and breakfast in Southern Illinois.  It's a gift we'd held on to for way too long but Woody can sweet talk anybody so they let us redeem our gift this holiday weekend. (actually the inn keepers are very gracious and totally understood a mommy leaving her baby issues.)  Southern Illinois is a great little spot in the world.  Especially if you are the outdoor type.  We had a blast...golf, hiking, tons of great food, pizza, some pitch and catch and even watched UK beat Uof L.  A weekend just doesn't get any better. 

We went hiking all day on Sunday.  The weather was so nice.  Southern Illinois has so many great hiking areas.  We barely scratched the surface.  We took tons of pictures on our hike, but you've seen trees, pretty rocks and lakes before so I thought you'd enjoy this picture instead.  Don't worry.  He's okay.

Our bed and breakfast. We enjoyed the food so much.   Did you know breakfasts come in courses, too?  There's the fruit/pastry course and the hearty bacon, egg course as well...or in our case pecan crusted french toast...yum!

It's good to get away.  Hope didn't miss us one bit.  We missed her and had waves of guilty feelings but overall we were really able to enjoy ourselves!
