We really have not been that busy around here. Life is kind of pleasantly slow right now. Still, I'm behind in catching up on my blog posts. There is no attempt here to be cute or entertaining, but just to catch you up on what we've been doing. What have you been up to?
| Will...he's been growing. Whoa has he been growing. |
| He had his 2 month check up and shots. He did better than Hope with the shots, but still it was not a fun day. He weighed 14.6 lb and was 25 inches long (84 and 91 percentiles). |
| It snowed...just a little, but enough to thrill a 3 year old. Hope went out to play in it and, like all kids, did not want to ever come inside despite the 20 degree temperature. |
| But inside is fun too. We've been doing lots of art projects and reading and watching movies (Toy Story and Beauty and the Beast are among the favorites right now.) |
| I like the slow pace of life right now. The holidays are over and basketball leagues, Bible Studies and work commitments for Woody are all starting up again so I know the slow pace is soon to quicken, but we enjoyed the family time while we had it. |
| Oh, and in case you are not a part of a sports family, the NFL playoffs are going on. This has meant for Woodrow III that he got to watch 12 hours of football each weekend. Woodrow II has come over to watch some so it's felt like a party! This is Woodrow IV learning to be a couch potato. Maybe next year, he'll be able to stay up long enough to watch some playoffs. |
| A long winter's nap. Hope went through a little spell of being afraid to go to sleep due to the orange monster with scissors that came to live at our house for a while. For naps, sometimes I'd let her make a little bed on the floor in the living room and sleep. There is just something fun about sleeping on the floor in the living room to a 3 year old and it did the trick for her. She is still sucking those 2 fingers and feeling her "feel good." Big Pappy has told us about something they sell at Rural King called "Chicken Poop" that is supposed to deter people from licking their lips during winter and getting them chapped. We are considering that for Hope's fingers. Seriously. |
| And the beard. Oh the beard. I hated the beard. Finally, it's gone. Why? Why would anyone think this was a good look? It is beyond terrible. |
| But what is worse than what the beard did to Woody's looks was what it did to the drain when he finally shaved it. Hours of our plunging, Grammy's concoctions of baking soda, salt and hot water (try it for some chemistry fun in your sink today!), 3 hours of Big Pappy's elbow grease and a tool called a snake later, we have called a plumber to come fix it tomorrow. Something tells me that Woody will not be growing the beard again for a while. And between you and me: if this is what it took for him to reach that conclusion, then I'm glad it all happened. There... now you are caught up on us. |
